Feature Showcase:
Email Capture
The Email Capture feature is designed to help you grow your subscriber list, build your identified audience, and keep readers engaged—all within your website. The feature makes it simple for your visitors to save content they love and sign up for your newsletters.
What Is the Email Capture Feature?
The Email Capture feature allows visitors to enter their email address into a form on your website, enabling them to receive a link to the post directly in their inbox. This is a great way to help your readers revisit your content and also expand your email list with engaged readers.
How Does It Work?
Readers who opt in via the Email Capture form will receive an email featuring:
- The link to the saved post.
- Links to three related posts for further exploration.
- Customization with your logo and branding.
This makes it easy for your audience to save content for later and stay connected with your updates.
How to Enable Email Capture
-
From your Slickstream portal, navigate to Config > Features > Email Capture.
-
Check to enable on Desktop and Mobile.
The default settings will place the Email Capture form on all posts after the third paragraph.
How to Customize the Email Capture Form
You can customize the Email Capture form to fit your brand's look and feel. Navigate to Config > Site Wide > Email Capture, and adjust settings like:
- Main Call-to-Action (CTA) text ("Save This Article" or "Save This Recipe")
- Description text
- Button text and colors
- Confirmation message
- Placement of the form on the page
Key Features
- Highlight/Spotlight Functionality:
You can toggle a highlight feature that draws attention to the form after the user scrolls. This subtle spotlight effect stops after the first scroll but helps improve visibility without blocking content. - Customizable Icon:
Add a visual cue to your form to improve conversions. You can use a default icon or link your own custom image. - Flexible Placement Options:
Choose where the Email Capture form appears on your page. It appears after the third paragraph by default, but you can adjust this location based on your site's layout. You can also use a CSS Selector for precise placement.
Collecting Email Addresses
If you have an ESP connected to Slickstream, new subscribers will automatically be added to your list with the tags 'slickstream-contact-allowed' and 'slick-sa' for segmentation. If not, you can manually download collected emails from the Membership tab in the portal.
Contact support if you'd like more information on this feature or need assistance with customization.
