Feature Showcase: Dynamic Content Module
The Dynamic Content Module (DCM) is a recent addition to the suite of Slickstream modules and takes advantage of Slickstream's as-you-type search and recommendation engine. The breadth of visual options available also make this an extremely versatile component.
This module is similar to Slickstream's as-you-type search with one fundamental difference. Unlike standard search that opens a full page panel, the content module search results appear inline on the page.
The content module can operate in two modes:
-
With no pre-populated search results, i.e. just a search box, or,
-
With pre-populated search results based on a preset search query.
It's the latter that allows this module to also serve as a grid or carousel for a collection of thematically related content.
So What's Configurable?
The three components that make up the module: the search box, the Show All link that opens the full search panel, and the pre-populated results, can all be independently hidden.
The module itself can be used in the body of a page or in a sidebar.
The placeholder text in the search box can be customized as needed.
The results can be displayed as a grid (with a configurable number of rows) or a carousel.
The results can be limited to webpages, web stories or videos, or, can include any combination of these media.
The pre-populated results can be a set of pages related to the current page, the results from a specific search query, the most recently published pages, pages from a specific category or the most popular pages.
There can be multiple DCMs on a page.
All fonts and colors are configurable along with the layout, size and aspect ratio of the result cards.
